Jade

Jade /Dwarf Jade

Jade is a very easy tree to turn into bonsai.  It thrives indoors but will be happy outside during the summer / warmer months (Above 7C).  It is happy with infrequent watering and can be left untended till the soil has dried out fully.

This tree does take a long time to thicken but is perfect for the indoor enthusiast or someone who does not spend much time looking after plants…

Position Pruning / Repot Feeding / Water My Notes
This tree loves the sun and has thrived well in my garden nursery. However it is ideal inside on a windowsill where it can receive full light daily. I keep my private Jade on the kitchen sill. Definitely bring inside for temps below 7°C.
Repot: Every 2-3 years using a well draining inorganic soil mix. Pruning: Pinch back new growth regularly. Produces new shoots readily from cut sites
Water: Infrequently encourages strong root growth (let soil dry out) Feeding: Monthly is normally fine
Wiring: Can be carried out with care but I use directonal pruning Propagation: Great success with cuttings into free draining soil /sand
